Brentwood
A master plan for the India industrial operations of a 120 billion company was proposed encompassing the built components, the plant /non-plant buildings and the non-built components namely roads, rain, water, waste water and power. As key achievements of master planning, firstly not even one square inch of the site of 16 acres was left non-programmed. Secondly site was planned to be ‘self-sufficient’ in terms of its water use, its waste discharge, its solid waste generation and its landscaping. Power procurement from solar was suggested for partly requirement. Thirdly local ecology was enhanced by suggesting by promotion of local flora on the site, which in turn would flourish the local fauna. Fourthly spatial planning was done to fulfill the functional requirements of the industry, with a ‘humane’ approach so that in the long run productivity of campus could be enhanced. The planning was intended to achieve a pre-certified rating of ‘Platinum’ in green industry category as per IGBC norms.
